TADA wraps up 2020 and reflects on wins

The TADA had a successful 2020 all while navigating the current landscapes of the pandemic and the everchanging process of business regulations. The TADA’s Government Relations team led by Frank Notte, (Director of Government Relations) were hard at work for the past year ensuring our dealers had a voice. Here are a few of the many initiatives the TADA took.

  • A major milestone for TADA in 2020 was the elimination of the College of Trades. Offering a new approach when it comes to providing services – such as compliance with compulsory training and certification requirements, among other things.
  • The TADA also contributed to the Grant for Apprentice learning (a $5.8 million Commitment) as an achievement for the dealers of Ontario.
  • Dealers in Ontario can also expect more cutting of red tape, such as the clarification that New Vehicle Information Statements (NVIS) can be used in place of valid registration when a vehicle with dealer plates is on the road. This initiative cuts costs and reduces administrative strain.
