Electric Charging Station Funding
In an effort to reduce Green House Gas Emissions the Federal Government has introduced the Zero Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program (ZEVIP) a 5-year $280 million program ending in 2024 and its objective is to address the lack of charging and refueling stations in Canada, which is one of the key barriers to ZEV adoption by consumers. By increasing the availability of localized charging and hydrogen refueling opportunities the Federal Government seeks to increase the amount of Canadians choosing to purchase ZEVs.
The ZEVIP Funding programs covers 50% of EV charging projects that are
a) A minimum of one (1) fast charger of 50 kW and above;
b) A minimum of ten (10) Level 2 chargers.
There is an upcoming deadline to apply for funding on September 8th
Additional funding to be annoucned this fall.
EV Charging station must be new and purchased equipment and cannot be leased.
